| Vaccine passport vote secured from Javid by Lib Dems | |
| Responding to the news that Health Secretary Sajid Javid has promised a vote in the House of Commons on vaccine passports, Liberal Democrat Health Spokesperson Munira Wilson MP said:
“Vaccine passports are Covid ID cards in all but name. They are illiberal, a burden to business and a zombie proposal that Ministers keep trotting out. “Finally the Government have stopped running scared and committed to a Parliamentary vote 11 months after they have been first suggested. “There must be a vote in advance, and Liberal Democrats will continue to oppose these plans that would be unworkable, divisive and hugely expensive for local businesses.” |
